GE Proficy Engineer
Experienced in GE Proficy and SQL? Support critical industrial automation upgrades and migration projects.
Position summary
The role leads end-to-end migrations, ensures data integrity and system compatibility, and provides post-migration support.
Key responsibilities
- Assess existing GE Proficy infrastructure and develop migration plans
- Lead end-to-end migrations, upgrades, and post-migration support
- Upgrade Kepware, GE iHistorian, Plant Applications, and related modules to supported versions
- Configure and troubleshoot Plant Applications models, services, and system logs
- Ensure system compatibility, data integrity, and optimal performance
- Troubleshoot data flows, industrial communication protocols, and visualization tools
- Design system architecture improvements for scalability and performance
- Develop testing protocols, validation plans, and rollback procedures
- Maintain migration documentation, system configurations, logs, and user guides
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate progress to customers
- Provide on-call support during go-live and occasional after-hours or weekend migration activities
- 7+ years of experience with GE Proficy products, including Kepware, Historian, and Plant Applications
- Proven experience in Historian data migration, Plant Applications upgrades, and industrial automation systems
- Strong SQL scripting skills
- Knowledge of industrial protocols, including OPC DA/UA, Modbus, and MQTT
- Experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, VMware or Hyper-V, and backup strategies
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Good customer communication and coordination skills
- VBScript and PowerShell
- Experience debugging GE Proficy logs and configuring Plant Applications services
